Can
You Really Afford To Vote Democrat?
by Kerry Thomas
October 15, 2008
Given the economic circumstances in which we
find ourselves this year, can you afford to vote Democrat in the November
elections?
You may not realize it, but that question should
be paramount as you ponder your vote.
There is a conservative in this race, but she’s
on the Vice-Presidential ballot. In the
race for President, of the two major political parties’ candidates, you have a
choice between a moderate and a Marxist.
John McCain is not a conservative, by anyone’s standards. He’s a moderate, in the tradition of Republican moderates. He is willing and able to strike compromise deals with Democrats, as evidenced by the McCain-Feingold campaign finance law, the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill, the McCain-Lieberman climate control bill, and numerous other “bi-partisan” legislative efforts by John McCain over the years.
However, John McCain is a man of his word. He has sworn oaths to preserve and protect
the Constitution from all enemies, both foreign and domestic. And he has never broken those oaths.
Barack Obama, on the other hand, is a committed
Marxist. He launched his political
career from the living room of a domestic terrorist. He’s a Chicago politician, where the phrase “vote early and vote
often” is taken literally. The
Democrats this year have even begun to advertise “Vote Early” on billboards
across America.
Obama has long ties to the “community
organizing” group ACORN, which is currently under investigation in 14 states,
including Wisconsin, for numerous and repeated instances of voter fraud. Some of their more infamous efforts, at
least according to news reports, include registering the Dallas Cowboys
football team to vote in Nevada and registering Mickey Mouse to vote in
Florida. One man told reporters ACORN
personnel had registered him 73 times.
Barack Obama gave this group $800,000 this year
for such “get out the vote” efforts.
This group has taken millions in taxpayer dollars over the years for
such efforts. But this “non-partisan”
group only seems to register Democrats.
On October 13, campaigning in Ohio, Barack Obama told a plumber that his (Obama’s)
economic plan would “spread the wealth around.”
"Your new tax
plan is going to tax me more, isn't it?" the plumber asked, complaining
that he was being taxed "more and more for fulfilling the American
dream."
"It's not that
I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind
you, that they've got a chance for success too," Obama responded. "My
attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna
be good for everybody ... I think when you spread the wealth around, it's
good for everybody."
But it’s Barack
Obama who wants to decide how your wealth should be spread around.
Barack Obama is a true believer in the maxim “from each, according to his means, to each,
according to his needs” and a heavy progressive income tax. Those are fundamental planks of Marx’s Communist Manifesto.
Think about that maxim for a moment. “From each, according to his means, to each,
according to his needs.” Barack Obama, using the force of law, will
take from you whatever he thinks is a fair amount of your money, and give it to
someone else. For those who receive
this largess, you’ll only get enough to cover whatever Barack Obama thinks you
need, not what you think you need or want.
After all, that’s only fair.
And Barack Obama is planning to spend a lot of
your money for you.
A summary
of Obama’s spending plans totals some $1.297 TRILLION in new spending in just
one 4-year term as President. Just a
few of the highlights:
To date, Obama’s announced new spending proposals totals $1.297 TRILLION. And that’s on top of the $700 billion Wall Street bailout, the $127 billion AIG bailout, the $25 billion to the auto makers, and all the other “bailouts” Congress has enacted in just the last month. All these plans were supposed to save us from ourselves.
The bailout bill did include a few minor tax
benefits. But none of the Congressional
actions bothered to include the one tried and true method for restoring a
bustling economy, that being cutting taxes.
It worked for Kennedy; it worked for Reagan; it even worked for George
W. Bush in his first term. But tax cuts
aren’t something a Democrat Congress will even consider.
Barack Obama and his fellow liberals know they
can spend your money better than you can.
And spend it they will.
The federal budget deficit for 2008 was just announced at
$454.8 Billion. For 2009,
the federal government is planning to spend $3.1 TRILLION of your tax dollars
for you. And that’s just President
Bush’s proposal. How much more would
Nancy Pelosi and Congressional Democrats be able to spend implementing their socialist
agenda under an Obama administration?
John McCain may not be a conservative, but he
has promised not to raise taxes. Barack
Obama is promising a tax cut for “95% of all Americans.” He says he’ll only raise taxes on those
making more than $250,000/year. But his
math just doesn’t add up. And it
doesn’t match his liberal voting record in the Senate, where he voted to raise
taxes more than 90 times, including voting to raise taxes on people earning
just $42,000/year.
Obama doesn’t tell you that if you’re a small business
owner in America, and your business takes in more than $250,000/year, guess
what? Your taxes are going up. If you work for one of these small
businesses, would you rather see your employer pay higher taxes, or give you a
raise?
In their third and final debate Wednesday night
in New York, John McCain showed he gets it.
Referring to Obama’s economic exchange with Joe Wurzelbacher, the Ohio man
looking to buy a plumbing business, McCain explained
the differences between his and Obama’s views on tax policies.
“Joe wants to buy the business that he has been in for
all of these years, worked 10, 12 hours a day. And he wanted to buy the
business but he looked at your tax plan and he saw that he was going to pay
much higher taxes," McCain challenged Obama.
"You were going to put him in a higher
tax bracket which was going to increase his taxes,
which was going to cause him not to be able to employ people, which Joe was
trying to realize the American dream," McCain said.
McCain then looked directly into the TV camera and
said: "Joe, I want to tell you, I'll not only help you buy that business
that you worked your whole life for and I'll keep your taxes low and I'll
provide available and affordable health care
for you and your employees. And I will not stand for a tax increase on small business income."
In his response, Barack Obama proved he just
doesn’t understand how small business works in this country.
Obama claimed “98 percent of small businesses make less than
$250,000.” The facts prove otherwise.
The US Small
Business Administration (SBA) defines a 'small business' according to its
average annual receipts or the number of its employees.
On October 13, Rush
Limbaugh provided some insight into the state of small business in America
today:
“Let's look at the
maximum average annual receipts by industry that a business can have and
still be classified as small business by the SBA.
"Crop production
of all types: $750,000." Keep that $250,000 figure in mind because every
business that I'm going to list here, every small business is far larger than
$250,000 in receipts. Yet Obama says most small businesses do not make over
$250,000.
·
Crop production of all types: $750,000
·
Animal production except for cattle &
chicken/eggs: $750,000
·
Cattle feedlots: $2.5M
·
Chicken/egg production: $12.5M
”These are small businesses,
according to the SBA.
·
Forestry & logging: $7M
·
Fishing: $4M
“Did you know that
forestry and logging has as many operators that are small businesses? It's a $7
million definition of a small business by the SBA.”
·
Fishing: $4M
·
Irrigation, sewage, water supplies: $7M
“These are various
areas. The size of your business -- for
example, if you're in housing construction and you're a business is under $33.5
million, you're considered a small business by the SBA.”
“Now, keep in mind,
Obama says the vast majority of small businesses don't earn more than
$250,000. Let me keep going.”
·
Heavy and civil engineering construction: $33.5M
·
Dredging and cleanup: $20M
·
Concrete, framing, and other housing
contractors: $14M
·
Car dealers: $23-29M
”Do you know some car
dealers are small businesses? Those of you who work at them do. If you own a
dealership or series of dealerships valued in your receipts (these are annual
receipts) between $23 and $29 million, you're a small business.”
·
RV, motorcycle, & boat dealers: $7M
·
Furniture, hardware, clothing & sporting
good stores: $7M
“Furniture, hardware, clothing & sporting
good stores, if your receipts are under $7 million a year, you're considered a
small business.”
“Electronic
stores..." They're not talking the Circuit Citys, the Best Buys and all
this. If you're a mom and pop electronics store, $7 million is the cutoff line
for you to be called a small business.”
·
Supermarkets, gas stations & department
stores: $27M
"Anything over
that, and you're not a small business; anything under it, you are."
·
Pharmacies: $7M
“Now, keep in mind, 250
grand. Obama in the presidential town hall debate said, "Only a few
percent of small businesses make more than $250,000 a year. So the vast
majority of small businesses would get a tax cut under my plan."
“The truth is that if
he's going to implement a plan that people over 250 grand personally or small
business, Subchapter S filing under a personal return, if he's going to have a
tax increase on anybody more than 250 grand, 99% of small business is going to
get a huge tax increase!”
“The very little guy
that Obama claims to want to help is the very guy that's going to get clipped
here, because once these taxes go up the first instinct of the small businessman
or woman is to survive as a small business.“
”If your taxes go up and you have an economy like this and you cannot grow for
a little while because people don't have a whole lot of disposable income
because their taxes are going up, too, what are you going to do?”
“You can't keep paying
people if your business is going down. Your job is to have your business
survive because you have to go through the up and down cycles. You're going to
have to lay people off. The business cannot purposely lose money for
humanitarian reasons, for a very long time.”
“If it does, it will go
out of business and nobody will get anything from it.”
Obama just doesn’t get it.
For Republicans and conservatives, for anyone
working in a small business, for anyone just trying to get ahead in these
troubling economic times, there is no good choice in this year’s presidential
race. But John McCain poses the least
threat to your Liberty.
A vote for McCain will not raise your taxes,
will not threaten your job, and will not threaten the Constitution.
A vote for Obama will put America one step
closer to Marx’s socialist vision of a utopian world under communism.
