In Favor Of President Bush

The Lakeland Times now has a "funnies" section.

At least, that was what I was thinking as I read the latest attempt to rally support for Democrat John Kerry, written by one Dick Hougen from Rhinelander in the May 18 issue.

Mr. Hougen starts off by throwing the usual bombs at President Bush, and a couple hand grenades at the Wall Street Journal and the Fox News Channel.  He then goes on to almost plead for more people to start turning out for the latest Kerry campaign rallies.

By the way, it's not just Democrats who are calling for the elimination of paperless voting machines.  Without a paper trail, any election is ripe for fraud.  Today's hackers would just love to try to hack an election.

My big question, which no one seems able (or willing) to answer, is "What does John Kerry, and his supporters, stand for?"  The only ideas I have heard from the Kerry camp are to raise taxes and to "internationalize" the war on terrorism.  Personally, I'm getting tired of America trying to fight a war according to the rules of the political correctness police.  Oh, and I've heard something about John Kerry serving in Vietnam.  So what?  How many 60 year old men go around bragging about a part time job they held for 4 months more than 30 years ago?

As for taxes, do you voluntarily pay more in taxes than the law says you should?  If you don't, why do you think I or any of your neighbors should?  If the government is running a budget deficit, the Legislature should cut spending.

Health care?  Kerry's solution is socialized medicine, through mandated health care insurance from employers.  Have you talked to a small business owner here in the North? How many of them could afford to stay in business if they had to pay for new mandated health insurances?

All John Kerry seems to be offering is the same old worn out liberal ideas, more government control of your life and higher taxes to pay for it.  Fits the dictionary definition of a liberal, which talks about a more even distribution of money.  In other words, from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.  Straight out of the liberal bible, as penned by Marx and Engels in 1848.

As for the Republican funding sources, most Republican candidates get the majority of their funds from small contributions, less than $500, from a lot of supporters.  The Democrats, on the other hand, are enjoying the support, the financial support, of billionaire George Soros, an avowed atheist, who is determined to defeat President Bush because the President is so open about professing his faith in God.

I have no quarrel with anyone who supports John Kerry in his bid for the Presidency.  But, please, ask yourself, why are you supporting him?  Do you live your life the way John Kerry proposes you should?  Can you honestly say a human life does not begin at conception?  Do you enjoy letting government bureaucrats tell you what you can or can't do with your own property?

Do you like paying higher income taxes and higher gasoline taxes (Kerry advocated raising gas taxes by 50 cents/gallon)?  Do you believe in supporting the troops in the field, or would you have voted, like Kerry did, against an additional $87 billion for military supplies?  Oops, no, wait.  Kerry actually voted for the $87 billion - before he voted against it.

Who do you trust to lead America in a time of war?  Our enemy wants to kill you, your family, your children, and your friends and neighbors.  Do you really think talking to that enemy will convince him not to want to kill you?  Do you trust the U.N. to protect your family?

Do you really believe in the things Kerry is advocating?  Or is it simply a matter of a hatred for President Bush?
